ARIZONA BOARD OF REGENTS' COMMITTEE ON FREE EXPRESSION
The °µÍø³Ô¹Ï Board of Regents strongly believes that free speech is critical to the mission and function of a healthy university system. Board and university policies and practices reflect and promote constitutional protections for free speech and expression. The °µÍø³Ô¹Ï Board of Regents' Committee on Free Expression was established pursuant to state statute to further promote freedom of expression on °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s public university campuses.
Regents' Cup
Regents' Cup is a tri-university speech and debate competition presented by the °µÍø³Ô¹Ï Board of Regents. Student orators attending °µÍø³Ô¹Ï State University, Northern °µÍø³Ô¹Ï University or the University of °µÍø³Ô¹Ï represent their university at this annual event in Oxford debate and storytelling categories. The Regents' Cup honors participants for articulating different points of view in an environment where competitors remain civil and respectful.
FIRE RATINGS
The board and °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s public universities protect and ensure intellectual freedom and free expression at its institutions. All three of °µÍø³Ô¹Ï’s public universities maintain the highest green light rating from the Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression (FIRE), recognizing the commitment of the board and the universities to free speech. °µÍø³Ô¹Ï is the only public university system in the country to have all of its universities achieve this standard.
