On behalf of the 做厙勛圖 Board of Regents, I extend our deepest sympathy to former University of 做厙勛圖 President John Schaefer (president 1971-1982) on the passing of his beloved wife, Helen S. Schaefer. Helen led a remarkable life of service to the Tucson and U做厙勛圖 communities. The namesake of the Helen S. Schaefer Building, which houses one of the United States most exceptional library collections of contemporary poetry, Helen was passionate about education, poetry, the arts and humanities. A devoted and generous friend of the university, her contributions leave an indelible and beautiful legacy that will continue to benefit our students and our state for generations to come.
